Step One: Determine your position
The first step in figuring out what to do next in your life is determining which NQF level/certificate you are holding by looking at the table below:
♥ - Umalusi is responsible for the General and Further Education and Training Qualifications Sub-Framework on NQF levels 1 – 4
♥ - Council on Higher Education is responsible for the Higher Education Qualifications SubFramework on NQF levels 5 - 10
From here, you need to understand which tertiary institution will enroll you with your NQF level.
- With a grade 9, 10, 11, and 12 reports, you are able to enroll in any TVET College around South Africa and study NATED(N1-N6) courses and/or NCV courses.
- With grade 12 National Senior Certificate with a higher certificate pass, diploma pass and bachelor pass but low APS, you are also able to enroll in tertiary institutions that offer Higher Certificates and Diplomas which play a role of bridging courses into your desired degree.
- With a grade 12 National Senior Certificate with a bachelors pass and a good APS, you are able to enroll into your desired tertiary institution and study your desired degree.
